One sunny afternoon in late November (2008) we packed a picnic lunch and went to the Mobile Battleship Museum. The kids had a great time exploring the parts of the battleship....and Yes....Madison is in a costume!!! (just in case the talent scouts were out looking for the next Wizard of Oz lion!! ;-)
Octoberfest at the Witherell's House
At the end of October we hosted the squadron (HT-8) fall festival at our house. We had a pumpkin patch with 50 pumpkins, sack races, pumpkin decorating contests, games, lots of food, and TONS of fun. The evening ended with a bon-fire, marshmallow roast, and special brew provided by a squadron member. The festival went so well... plans are in the making for it to become an annual event!
School Daze!!!
Splish! Splash!
Our major project for 2008 was the addition of the Witherell family pool. Daniel and Madison loved the entire project from the tractors digging the dirt to sliding down into the deep end while the pool was filling up (see photos). Daniel has become a pro at jumping off the rock wall and swimming the length of the pool...while Madison can race from one end to the other with the help of her Rubber Duck float.
Little Princess Pageant
July 2008 - Madison took part in her first pageant. The pageant was held in Destin, Florida. The categories were casual wear and formal attire. Madison loved being on the stage! She placed third out of thirty-seven girls for the three year old "Little Princess" division. She took home 2 trophies - one for participation and one for third place. She is looking forward to the next pageant! Perhaps she will need a few more sponsors and an agent soon!!
